Taunton Chiropractors Coronavirus statement
26th May 2020
The clinic will be open again from the 1st June unless government advice changes. We would like to reassure all our patients with upcoming appointments that every precaution is being taken to minimize exposure to the Coronavirus. Special measures have been put in place for patient and staff safety.
It is now a requirement that you agree to our new Coronavirus Procedures. This will be sent to you via email from our receptionists prior to your appointment. You must reply and agree to consent to care before your appointment can be confirmed. If you require assistance once you have completed this form, then please call the clinic and speak to a member of staff.
- We have increased the time between appointments to reduce the number of people in the clinic and allow increased cleaning between patients.
- We are providing hand sanitiser for all patients to use on entry and exit to the building.
- Each Clinician has their own waiting area with minimal chairs
- We ask all patients to leave promptly after payment to keep their time in reception to a minimum.
- Our staff are frequently sanitising work surfaces, chairs, door handles and the card payment machine (most transactions will be contactless)
- We are sanitising treatment benches between patients.
- Our staff are taking extra precautionary measures themselves and are wearing the PPE, in line with current guidance.
- We are keeping windows open for fresh air flow.
On arrival at the practice, please adhere to the following instructions:
Based on government guidelines, we would require that you arrive wearing your own face covering. We have additional face masks for patient use if required.
Female patients: we will not be providing gowns, so please bring or wear loose, light, stretchy clothing.
Please be aware of other patients and respect the 2 metre social distancing guidance
Use the main entrance, and follow directions from our signage and team members.
Please arrive on time, if you're more than 5 minutes early, wait outside.
If there is another patient in the reception area, please wait outside until the reception area is clear.
Everyone must use the hand sanitiser provided, on entering the building.
Please attend your appointment on your own, unless you are under 16 years old.
If you are on time & there are no other patients in the reception area, you may enter the building via the main door.
All Richard’s Osteopathy patients may proceed directly upstairs.
Please bring minimal personal belongings with you. Essential items (wallet, keys, mobile) must be placed on the wipeable surface as directed by staff.
Payment & Receipts
Please note that we would prefer to take card payments to prevent the handling of cash.
Call us on 01823 336 886 if you'd like to pre-pay over the phone.
Receipts will be emailed if required.
We cannot see you if...
Someone in your household/under your care is in a higher risk group for complications from the virus. High risk or extremely clinically vulnerable people are advised to shield. More information on what dictates an extremely clinically vulnerable person can be found at the link below.
RESCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENT (for two weeks time)
If you, or someone in your household/under your care is self-isolating, or have any symptoms such as:
- new continuous cough
- high temperature*
- loss or change to your sense of smell or taste
- new shortness of breath
Use the 111 online service if you have any of these symptoms, however mild
*We may check your temperature on arrival to the clinic
CONSIDER RESCHEDULING YOUR APPOINTMENT
If you are an older person (over 70’s) with underlying health conditions.
Please note that we are currently only able to provide Chiropractic and Osteopathy appointments as we are awaiting an announcement from the massage/soft tissue associations regarding the ability of their practitioners to return to work (Kimberly and Suresh). We will update everyone as soon as we know.
Please note that during the initial phase of reopening we will be working with a reduced team. This is to help reduce potential spread of the virus and reduce the number of people in the clinic as any one time. Please bear with us whilst we work with this skeleton team.
Please call for the latest updates
We are reviewing guidance daily and all procedures are being constantly reviewed. There may be changes and updates. We will do our best to keep you informed.
